Pluggable Transponder - The Pluggable Transponder is a totally new concept in Metro Networking. It collapses the functionality of Transmode's existing standalone transponder into a device no larger than today's GBIC or SFP components. Being standards-based, the Pluggable Transponder can be plugged directly into the client port of customer equipment such as L2 Switches, providing a managed optical solution all the way to the customer premises.
