M6 (MEN MIKRO)

The M6 is based on the M-Module ANSI mezzanine standard. It can be used as an I/O extension in any type of bus system, i.e. CPCI, PXI, VME or on any type of stand-alone SBC. Appropriate M-Module carrier cards in 3U, 6U and other formats are available from MEN or other manufacturers. The M6 is a standard interface for serial I/O. It is based on the Z85C30 controller, which has two independent channels. Channel B can be configured as a TTY, RS232, RS422 or RS485 interface. TTY provides noise-immune, slow data transfer. With RS232, data transfer rates between 110 and 38400 baud can be implemented. With RS422/485, the data transfer rates reach 1Mbits/s even over longer distances. Channel A is not used.
