M9 (MEN MIKRO)

The M9 is based on the M-Module ANSI mezzanine standard. It can be used as an I/O extension in any type of bus system, i.e. CPCI, PXI, VME or on any type of stand-alone SBC. Appropriate M-Module carrier cards in 3U, 6U and other formats are available from MEN or other manufacturers. The M9 complies with the IEEE-802.3 standard. Data rates of 10Mbits/s can be achieved at a network length of 2,500 meters with up to 100 stations. The Ethernet is intended primarily for use in such areas as office automation, distributed data processing, terminal access, and other situations requiring economical connection to a local communication medium. The M9 has a combined D-Sub/BNC connector. 2 adaption connectors convert to 10Base-5 or 10Base-2. 10Base-T can only be supported via a 10Base-5-to-10Base-T adapter (commercially available).
