M17 (MEN MIKRO)

The M17 is based on the M-Module ANSI mezzanine standard. It can be used as an I/O extension in any type of bus system, i.e. CPCI, PXI, VME or on any type of stand-alone SBC. Appropriate M-Module carrier cards in 3U, 6U and other formats are available from MEN or other manufacturers. The M17 is based on the MC68302 multiprotocol processor. It is particularly suited for communication applications. The three intelligent serial channels are supported by a RISC and a DMA controller. Each MC68302 channel can be used for HDLC/SDLC, UART or BISYNC operation. Even X.25 protocols can be handled with low load on the host. The M17 is similar to the M46, but it offers more flexibility by using additional PCBs for configuration of the line interface. We provide interface adapters for triple RS232, RS422 or RS485 or one X.21bis channel.
