M53 (MEN MIKRO)

The M53 is based on the M-Module ANSI mezzanine standard. It can be used as an I/O extension in any type of bus system, i.e. CPCI, PXI, VME or on any type of stand-alone SBC. Appropriate M-Module carrier cards in 3U, 6U and other formats are available from MEN or other manufacturers. The M53 M-Module permits connection of SCSI peripheral devices by means of a 50-pin HD-Sub SCSI connector. Its core is the 53CF96, which has a buffer controller interface for I/O functions. The SCSI controller transmits its data via DMA to a 32-bit FIFO. The host can read or write data from/to the FIFO via the M-Module in 16-bit or 32-bit blocks. For this purpose, the M-Module also supports burst access.
