Description

The P4 is based on the PC-MIP ANSI mezzanine standard. It can be used as an I/O extension in any type of bus system, i.e. CPCI, PXI, VME or on any type of stand-alone SBC. Appropriate PC-MIP carrier cards in 3U, 6U and other formats are available from MEN or other manufacturers. The P4 adds an ultra fast standard SCSI interface to all types of industrial applications from small embedded-system up to high-end workstation configurations. The P4 features the Symbios SYM53C895 SCSI controller which supports Ultra2 SCSI up to 40MB/s with single-ended (Fast SCSI, Ultra SCSI modes) and LVD (Ultra2 SCSI mode) signaling environments. The P4 also gurarantees backward compatibility to Fast (Wide) SCSI and Ultra (Wide) SCSI modes. In addition, the P4 supports big/little endian, optional ROM and a serial identification ROM.
