Introduction
The BVME395 is a compact (3U) VMEbus, high performance, 32-bit processor module with full master/slave VMEbus interface based on the MC68040 CPU from Motorola. It offers new levels of performance and flexibility whilst maintaining the compactness of a single high VMEbus module.
Two versions are available. The BVME395 uses the MC68040 CPU and for price sensitive applications the BVME390 uses the MC68EC040 which provides a cost effective alternative where the FPU and MMU are not required. A range of plug-on memory expansion modules provides a selection of DRAM and FLASH EPROM options allowing tailoring to meet specific application requirements.
